GEN.hectic formerly known as hectic has been active as a DJ for the last two decades and since the late 90′s as a visual artist. Having studied Visual Arts & Communication, 3D Animation & Video Game Design, Electrical Engineering and German language & Culture, GEN.hectic gained an extensive visual and musical background.

Originally from Montreal, Canada the General has travelled the world, often with the mission to dig up records and answers regarding styles emerging from certain areas by speaking with locals and Artists.

From 2003 to 2008 GEN.hectic hosted Les Électronautes on CISM 89,3FM, a radio show covering all genres of electronic music and it’s history. Parallel to the FM from 2006 to 2008, hectic took part in the online Frequency Radio.

Following a life long interest for German art. GEN.hectic moved to Germany to reside in Berlin and founded the metaphysik label in 2013.
